Boosting Site Self Sufficiency with Outdoor Commercial Storage Systems

At the Max Müller Spedition Opfenbach site, the logistics center isequipped with a large PV system that generates more electricity than the company consumes during the day, especially in summer.To utilize the excess electricity for nighttime lighting and charging forklift batteries, a storage solution was needed. In June 2023, Allgäu Batterie commissioned two outdoor commercial storage systems at the Opfenbach site. These systems temporarily store the solar energy generated and make it available when needed. This solution allows Max Müller Spedition to optimize self-consumption,significantly reduce energy costs, and actively contribute to the energy transition.​
